SIBU: Companies having stockpile of unwanted computers and other components can now clear and dispose them at the collection centre.

The Computer Sales and Association Sarawak (CSSA) Sibu branch has provided an avenue for them to dispose of these unwanted items, which may be taking up a huge volume of the office space.

“Arrangement can be made to collect huge bulks of the unwanted computers, printers and other components from companies,” said organising chairman of ‘E-waste Recycling Campaign 2010’ Wong Ing Ang yesterday.

Wong can be contacted at 0198872533 for disposal arrangement.

The campaign will be held in conjunction with Sarawak ICT Expo 2010 (II) from Dec 3 till 5.

Wong explained that the public can bring their unwanted computers, printers and other components to the collection centre at Sibu Trade and Exhibition Centre during the campaign period from 9am till 5pm.

Elaborating, he said free T-shirts and gifts would also be given for those bringing in a complete set of spoilt PCs, while a woven bag and other gifts for any incomplete set of PCs.

However, gift stock is limited.

The campaign was carried out annually with Sibu Municipal Council (SMC) to create a greener and healthier environment for the local populace.

“Funds raised will be donated to charitable organisations,” Wong said.

SMC chairman Datuk Tiong Thai King will officiate at the campaign at 11am on Dec 4.
