Three dengue deaths recorded last week


KUALA LUMPUR: Three dengue deaths were recorded last week (Nov 21 to 27), according to Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Mohd Ismail Merican.

In a statement here yesterday, he said the dengue deaths were reported in Johor, Penang and Sarawak and involved two men and a woman.

The first case involved a 34-year-old man in Georgetown, the second a 22-year-old storekeeper in Johor and the third a 43-year-old woman in Sibu, who operated a stall at the farmers market in the town.

Dr Mohd Ismail said the number of dengue deaths recorded so far this year was 128.

Seventy-eight deaths were recorded in the corresponding period last year. — Bernama
