Three killed, another seriously injured in crash

PETALING JAYA: Three teenagers were killed and another in critical condition in a car crash involving a Perodua Kancil and Proton Waja at Km27.3 of the Federal highway near the Motorola building  yesterday.
Two passengers in the Perodua Kancil were thrown out of the vehicle when the Proton Waja rammed into it in the 3am crash.

One of the victims was killed when ran over by several cars when she landed on the road after being flung out of the car.

Selangor Public Order and Traffic Department chief Supt Che Husin Omar identified the two victims as Fong Mun Fai, 18, and Liew Yuh Fen, 17.

He said the other victim killed in the accident was Chong Jin Kong, 17, who severed his left leg in the accident.

Chong died while being treated at  Universiti Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC) at about 8am, he said when contacted by Bernama.

Che Husin said both the cars were heading towards Shah Alam-Klang from Kuala Lumpur, when the Proton Kancil suddenly veered into the right lane, believed to make a U-turn, resulting in it being rammed from behind by the other car. — Bernama

He said the driver of the Proton Waja, identified as Sukvinderjit Singh s/o Juwinder Singh, 27, sustained serious head injury and was sent to UMMC for treatment.

Meanwhile, a man who claimed to be Fong’s uncle, when met at UMMC, said his nephew had just completed his Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) examination and had gone out with his friends Monday evening to celebrate.

“At about 2am, Fong contacted his mother to say that he would be home late,” he added. — Bernama
