ENGKILILI: Staff members of Lubok Antu District Council (MDLA) should provide the best service to the people, especially those from the interior.

OVER TO YOU: Dr Rayong (third left) hands over allocations to chairman of Engkilili sub-district headmen association, Edward Roy Entalai. Also seen are Jack (third right) and Lolita (second right).

The advice came from Engkilili assemblyman Dr Johnnical Rayong Ngipa who said people from the interior would be disappointed not to meet MDLA staff (who rarely come to the office) since they have already spent a lot of money on travel, especially those from upriver.

“So do not spend too much time outside the office and treat them well. Having said that, I hope MDLA staff who have been doing well keep up the good work while the others buck up,” he said.

Dr Rayong, who was recently admitted into Barisan Nasional, was speaking at a dinner organised by MDLA’s Welfare, Sports and Recreation Club at MDLA Hall on Friday.

On another matter, he hoped the council could strengthen solidarity among its staff from diverse races and religions.

With a united front, MDLA can work better as a unit to deliver services and implement programmes to benefit the people, he said.

Dr Rayong announced a Minor Rural Project (MRP) allocation of RM10,000 each to the club.

He also handed grants to Engkilili sub-distrist headmen association to buy uniforms.

Also present were Lubok Antu District Officer Jack Aman, Lubok Antu District Council Secretary Lolita Jaime Nicholas and community leaders from Lubok Antu.
