KAJANG: The mysterious disappearance of a 29-year-old air-conditioning service businessman early last month was unravelled when his body parts were found in an oxidation pond in Taman Pasir Mas, Sungai Chua here.

Police sources said the skull and limb of Liew Kuan Mang were believed to have been stumbled upon by Indah Water Konsortium (IWK) workers while patrolling and cleaning up the pond about 2.30pm Thursday.

They said the workers also found the victim’s mobile phone and wallet containing cash and cards stuffed in his pants pocket.

The skull and body parts of the victim from the waist to the ankles were retrieved in a search mounted this morning by the police’s forensic unit, the Fire and Rescue Department and the IWK, sources told Bernama.

Kuan Mang’s disappearance was brought up to the attention of MCA Public Complaints Bureau chairman Datuk Michael Chong by his father, Liew Tin Soon, 66.

Chong said Kuan Mang was last seen entering the toilet of a mamak restaurant near his house in Kajang after returning from a night club near the Petronas Twin Towers with three friends at about 2am on Nov 7.

“According to his friends, they and Kuan Mang were involved in a fight with the night club’s bouncers earlier. The trio, who were injured in the fight, had sought treatment at a nearby hospital,” said Chong.

Meanwhile, the victim’s father declined comment. — Bernama
