GUA MUSANG: Motorists who went to a petrol kiosk at the Felda Aring Satu land scheme today were shocked to see the petrol pump ripped off and an electrical cable hanging loosely from it.

It is believed a group of thieves had tried to prise off the pump to steal copper wire, but abandoned their act halfway when they could not cut the electrical cable connected to it.

Owner of the Kedai D‘Mart Felda Trading Sdn Bhd, Suraidi Yusoff, said he was informed about the damage about 7am today when a settler went there to refuel his motorcycle tank.

“I rushed there and saw the pump lying on its side. The thieves had removed the bolts used to fasten the pump to the floor, but failed to rip it off because of the electrical cable connecting it,” he told Bernama. He said the petrol pump did not belong to him and that he helped to monitor it because it was in front of his shop.

“I have informed the owner and a report has been lodged at Paloh Police Station,” he added. — Bernama
