SRI AMAN: The people in the rural areas have been called on to ensure the continuity of the Barisan Nasional (BN) government’s development plans.
Assistant Land Development Minister Datuk Francis Harden Hollis said for the Simanggang constituency, which he represents as assemblyman, the momentum of development would be disrupted if the opposition were to win the election.
“To avoid this scenario, I hope that the people would continue to give their utmost support to the BN in the next state election,” he said when officiating at the Malaysian Armed Forces Jiwa Murni programme yesterday.
Meanwhile, Harden stressed that the Armed Forces has an important role to play in promoting health among the rural people through programmes like Jiwa Murni, apart from protecting the country.
“I hope that such programmes would be continued by the army to established better ties between the people and the army in the future,” he added.
