They are SK Segubang, SK Opar and SK Jagoi in Bau; SK Pasir Tengah in Lundu; SK Sampun and SJK Chung Hua Semara in Kota Samarahan; and SK Orang Kaya Segunin, SJK Chung Hua Matu, SK Sok Matu and SK Pangtray in Matu Daro, Mukah.

These schools had to be closed due to flooded roads or premises, said a spokesperson for the state operations room here yesterday.

A source confirmed that Kampung Bumbok at Batu Kitang Road and Kampung Skiat Baru in Bau near here were still badly flooded although the authorities told the press that water had been receding.

Flood waters remained in Kampung Bumbok causing certain areas of the village to be submerged.

A spokesperson when contacted, however said the floodwater in the two villages had receded and the centre did not receive any news on the flood late Thursday.

“Let me find out and you should call back in half an hour,” she added.

The Borneo Post had been trying to reach the spokesperson since 3.45pm but all attempts failed as at press time yesterday.
