BEKENU: Housing and Urban Development Minister Datuk Amar Abang Johari Tun Openg hinted on Saturday that the state election would be held in two months time.

LAUNCHED: Abang Johari officiates at the `Saberkas Karnival’.

At the launching of `Saberkas Karnival’ at Kampung Keluru Jaya, Bekenu, he told those present that the government would fulfill the local’s request for a futsal field if they returned the BN to power in the election which is due by July this year.

“If we are given the mandate by the rakyat again in this coming State election, the futsal field will be built…so give us (your support) two months from now,” he said to the jovial crowd of about 200 people.

He stressed that the undivided and continuous support from the people were two important elements to ensure that development projects could be channeled unhindered throughout the state.

Also present were Sibuti member of Parliament Ahmad Lai Bujang, Lambir assemblyman Datuk Aidan Wing and SABERKAS Miri members.

On Saberkas, Abang Johari said the movement had amended its constitution in such a way that a third of its members should be aged 45 years and above and the remaining two thirds below 45 years old.

This initiative would pave the way for more young people to join Saberkas and be trained as future leaders of the country.
