SIBU: Bodybuilding and Weightlifting Association Sibu division chairman Chia Soon Cheong claimed an irresponsible individual had used his association’s name on Facebook without its permission.

“I only came to know about the incident when the secretary told me that he found an unofficial website of the association while surfing the networking site at 10pm on Feb 19,” Chia told reporters at a media conference held at the association’s premises on Friday.
On discovering the unauthorised account, secretary Martin Voon Jiun Yih, 35, lodged a report at Sibu Central police station on Feb 25.
Chia said after the report at noon, a check on the website at 8pm the same day showed the logo and association’s name on the unofficial site had been altered though the contents remained the same.
He said a meeting was called but none of the members seem to know about it.
Chia said a report had also been made to the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (SKMM) on www.skmm.gov.my for a probe, expected to take about a week.
The association chairman urged those responsible to come forward to provide an explanation and assured that no action would be taken by the association.
Meanwhile, Chia said the association will be holding its annual general meeting (AGM) at Paramount Hotel here at 7pm on March 27.
He said the Bodybuilding and Weightlifting state championship would be held in Miri but the date had yet to be fixed.
