MIRI: The Women’s wing of Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) visited Asap in Belaga to meet with their fellow members and supporters.
Three hundred PRS members and villagers were present during the get together lunch held at Uma Daro during the weekend.
“The visit was timely, besides organising a seminar in Asap, we were able to get together with our women members over here,” said PRS Women’s chief senator Doris Brodie.
Also present at the function were the Hulu Rejang MP Datuk Billy Abit Joo, Belaga assemblyman Liwan Lagang, and Chief Minister’s political secretary Angeline Umih.
Various local leaders including Pemanca, Penghulu, longhouse heads also attended the function.
Liwan who spoke at the function welcomed the initiative by the PRS Women’s wing for initiating the visit.
“Such initiative must be encouraged and should be applause as it reflects how committed our women’s wing are in their effort to bring about positive changes to their kind especially those residing in the rural through visits, sharing and seminars,” said Liwan.
