JITRA: Two students from Universiti Utara Malaysia were killed while another was seriously injured in an accident involving two cars at Jalan Sintok-UUM here yesterday.
Lim Hsiao Pei, 23, and Teh Chiew Sien, 23, died at the scene while Lim Seow Chin, 23, who was seriously injured, was warded at the Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital.
The driver of another car, who was also seriously injured, was admitted to the Jitra Hospital.
Kubang Pasu deputy police chief DSP Ibrahim Mohd Yusuf said the trio, who were travelling in a Perodua Kancil, were heading for the EDC-UUM Hotel when the accident occurred at about 7am.
The Kancil, which stopped at a junction to turn to the hotel, was hit by an oncoming Proton Waja, he said, adding that Hsiao Pei and Chiew Sien succumbed to head and neck injuries. — Bernama
