MIRI: Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) insists that Chief Minister Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud and not Tan Sri     Datuk Amar Adenan Satem  take up the open debate on Native Customary Rights (NCR) land.

State PKR chief Baru Bian said Taib is the correct person to talk on NCR land issue as he is the Minister of Planning and Resource Management.

“I don’t want to debate with Tan Sri Datuk Amar Adenan Satem but Chief Minister Pehin Sri Taib is the correct person to tackle the NCR land issue,” Baru said when contacted yesterday while on his way to Lawas to meet the people of Ba Kelalan and Lawas.

He asserted that PKR only wants to debate with Taib and not Adenan.

Baru was asked to comment on Taib’s statement that he would ask Adenan to standby and debate with PKR, saying Taib still has the time as the 14-day period he gave is not over yet and the PBB president can still reconsider his stand.

“CM should be the one to tell the world on NCR land as he is the key person in this matter,” he said.

Asked if they have enough evidence, Baru said it would be given out during the debate and not before the debate which is the rule of the debate.
