KUCHING: Tomorrow’s Leaders Summit is proud to welcome Starbucks Coffee as the official ‘Coffee & Food and Beverage Partner’ in the event.

The summit, which will be held in Borneo Convention Centre Kuching from March 18 to 20, will see youth coming from all over Malaysia, Asean countries and also international delegations.

“Starbucks is a place not just to have great coffee, it is a place where younger leaders meet their friends and business associates. With the growing trend of Internet connectivity, the paperless office and flexible working hours and conditions, it is a place where many spend part of their work time working on projects, writing reports or blogging,” stated event organiser Glenreagh Sdn Bhd managing director Nordin Abdullah in a press statement.

Tomorrow’s Leaders Summit is themed ‘Developing High Income Youth’ and it is these young leaders having higher disposable incomes that will avail themselves of all that the Starbucks experience has to offer.

According to Geofrey Perrin Williams, who is one of the presenters at Tomorrow’s Leaders Summit, young people, especially those in the creative fields, are not interested in being shut in a traditional office for 8 to 10 hours per day.

“There is nothing like a great coffee to get the creative mind flowing, and I know when I am working on projects, I need my Starbucks,” said Williams.

He went on to add that CSR projects will make the difference on how young people interact with large corporations in the future, younger generations look beyond the facade to make sure that the companies we are dealing with are socially responsible in their outlooks and in their dealings right across the board.

“Starbucks has the kind of commitment we look for and they are encouraging their staff to be good corporate citizens. We are delighted to have such an organisation working with us,” he said.

Meanwhile, Sarawak Convention Bureau chief executive officer Jill Henry said that it is great to see international companies recognising the value of partnering with convention organiser to reach out to their customer base.

Starbucks will be present at the event with a kiosk for those who cannot live without their coffee and every delegate will be given a free Starbucks voucher which can be redeemed at any of the Kuching Starbucks outlets.

Starbucks are available at tHe Spring, Precinct 88 and also Kuching International Airport.
