BUSAN: A South Korean airplane with 78 passengers on board, made an emergency landing after a bird strike during take-off, reported the Yonhap news agency today.

No passengers were injured during the incident, said an official of Gimhae International Airport here. Later, the stranded passengers left for Seoul, aboard another plane.

Air Busan’s BX8824 plane was bound for Seoul’s Gimpo International Airport at 7 p.m. on Monday when a bird was sucked into its right engine, though the bird did not disable the engine, the official said.

The plane landed safely after the pilot immediately returned to the second-largest city’s airport. – Bernama
