‘People should gauge integrity of opposition politician’

KOTA BAHARU: International Trade and Industry Minister Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed wants the people to evaluate objectively the “integrity” of an opposition politician allegedly involved in moral issue. Mustapa, who is Kelantan Umno liaison chief, said the people would punish the leader in the end if it was proven that the person was involved in such acts.

“The people want only leaders with high integrity,” he told reporters after attending a farewell dinner for the commanding officer of the border regiment’s first battalion, Lt-Col Hamdan Othman, who was transferring to the Defence Ministry in Kuala Lumpur. Mustapa said he was confident that the truth would finally prevailed.

He was commenting on the emergence of a sex video implicating an opposition politician. — Bernama
