SANDAKAN: Chong Man Kit obtained 11 A’s (5A+, 3A, 3A-) in the SPM to emerge as the top achiever of SMJK Tiong Hua here.

The 19-year-old son of a mechanic attributed the good results to his helpful teachers.

Chong, a former school prefect, was active in school’s activities. He also took up tuition and paid attention in class.

“My teacher really helped me a lot in my studies, and I had formed my own group to study together. Group study has been helping me through my studies as I was sometimes busy with my task as a school prefect,” he said.

On his future plans, Chong said: “I haven’t decided whether to study at Form Six or university. I really like to be in a school environment, and I hope to become a teacher one day.”

At SM St Mary, Adam Riong Samson, 18, was the school’s top student after achieving 10 A’s (1A+, 3A, 3A-).

“I was blessed with the results due to my continuous effort to study all the subjects before the examination and with the help and support from teachers, parents and friends,” he said.

The eldest son in the family will apply for a scholarship to further his studies in architecture.
