Miswary Hamsita, 33, pleaded not guilty to robbing a 19-year-old youth of a cellphone worth RM100 at a pedestrian area behind a bank in Sinsuran here at 10.20am on March 9.

The accused had allegedly committed the offence with two accomplices who are still at large.

The court reserved April 5 this year for fixing the trial date of Miswary.

Isidore ordered the duo to be further remanded in custody under Section 259 of the Criminal Procedure Code pending the disposal of their cases.

Earlier, deputy public prosecutor Chow Kong Siang objected the granting of bail to Jumadi and Miswary on the grounds that they had allegedly committed serious crimes.

Chow also said the victims involved in this case were underaged.

The two accused were unrepresented.
