KENINGAU: Keningau police are satisfied with the discipline of secondary school students here. District police chief DSP Zahari Mohamed said there had been no report received in relation to social problems like vandalism, gangsterism and crime among students.

“The establishment of uniformed units, including police cadets in secondary schools, has contributed to the high standard of discipline among students,” he said after attending the 41st Police Cadet Corps Day organised by the District Education Department here yesterday.

“The increase in students’ discipline was a result of the hard work and co-operation with discipline teachers to ensure that regulations were in place and complied with,” he said.

On drug addiction, Zahari said the students themselves know the danger of drugs through anti-drug campaigns in schools.

Meanwhile, he advised students not to abuse the usage of their mobile phones other than for communicating with their parents or friends.

Earlier, he inspected a guard of honour comprising 40 members of the secondary school police cadet and read a message from the Inspector-General of Police.

He also presented certificates of appreciation to several police cadet officers.
