KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Democratic Action Party chief, Jimmy Wong, yesterday described Barisan Nasional component parties as greedy for power and positions.

He said the recent calls by Parti Besatu Sabah and Liberal Democratic Party to contest for the seats belonging to now opposition Sabah Progressive Party in the coming general elections supports his views.

“It is such a chaos in the Barisan Nasional government. They are fighting among themselves to get more seats in the election so as to strengthen their power and position. This is an internal problem, all we can do is wait and see who is better at wooing the coalition’s top leadership to get the seats,” he said when contacted yesterday.

The Sri Tanjung Assemblyman however said the current scuffle is an advantage for DAP and its colleagues in Pakatan Rakyat as it also shows to the people on the BN leaders’ priorities.

“It is good as the people will be able to learn the ugly truth about those people representing them. These leaders are fighting for power and position rather than to fight for the good of their voters. This is, obviously, not a conducive environment for the people to elect them as their leaders in the future,” he said.
