BN cares for Orang Ulu community — Pairin

LAWAS: Barisan Nasional government never neglected the Orang Ulu community like Lun Bawang and Kelabit living in the highlands.

In saying this, PBS president Tan Sri Joseph Pairin Kitingan pointed out that this is manifested by the many members of the Orang Ulu community now holding high positions in government agencies and the private sector including oil and gas industry.

“This proves that the BN government is sincere and fair in helping the community all this while,” Pairin said to villagers in Long Tuma, Ba Kelalan on Tuesday.

Pairin and his entourage were supposed to be in Long Sukang but they had to cancel the visit due to heavy rain and bad weather.

He commended the community for their hardwork and diligence which make them the most progressive people and the envy of bigger communities in Sarawak, citing Datuk Seri Idris Jala and Willie Liau as examples of their success.

Idris is Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department while Willie is the BN-SPDP candidate for Ba Kelalan and a lawyer by profession.

He thus called on members of the community to consider their own and their children’s future and support Willie during polling day.
