MIRI: SMK Lutong will hold its sports meet at is field on April 18 to 21.
The four-day event is divided into two sessions – morning session (from 7am to 9am) and afternoon session (3pm to 5.30pm).
Among the events to be held are 100 metres, 400 metres, 1,500 metres, High Jump, Long Jump, Shotputt and Javelin.
The meet is open to all students in Form Two, Three, Four, Five and Six who are fit and healthy.
A spokesman said it is to scout for new talents, capability and endurance among students for easier selection of athletes and training programmes.
It also aims to instil discipline and harmony, besides choosing potential athletes to represent their respective sports houses and improving their attitude and competitive spirit.
“Apart from that, we also hope to foster closer rapport between the students and teachers and impart mental education knowledge while participating in various physical activities,” the spokesman said.
The spokesman also appealed for strong support and cooperation from everyone, including parents, to ensure success of the meet.
