Musa gets support from Sabah MIC

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah MIC is sad to note that certain leaders from the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) have chosen a confrontational way of airing its ‘personal’ assessment of the political situation in the state.

Long-serving state MIC chief Datuk V Jothi said the LDP should go through the proper channel to put forth whatever grouses it had in line with the Barisan Nasional’s spirit of consultation and camaraderie.

“My colleagues in LDP should not wash dirty linen in public,” he said, adding that state BN chief and Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman had said on numerous times his door was always open to leaders of BN component parties.

Citing an example, the veteran politician said the Chief Minister had been very accommodative to the MIC in dealing with problems faced by the Indian community in the state.

Among others, the Chief Minister at the request of the state MIC, is now looking into resolving problems faced by Indians who came to Sabah through the Migration Fund Board (MFB) in 1968.

“We all know that Datuk Seri Musa has demonstrated that he is Chief Minister for all the races and has always been fair to all the communities, including the Chinese,” said Jothi, who has been Sabah MIC chief for the past 15 years.

He said leaders of state BN component parties should be working closely in developing the state and meeting the aspirations of the people.

“We should stop being petty and instead look at the larger interest of the state and the people by closing ranks and supporting the Chief Minister’s vision and mission to bring the state to greater heights on all fronts,” Jothi said.

He also said that as far as the MIC was concerned, it would continue to give its undivided support to Musa as he has done extremely well in developing the state and putting the state finances on a strong footing.

“I am sure that under Musa’s exemplary leadership, he will once again lead the state BN to a landslide victory in the coming general election,” Jothi said.
