IF everything goes well, a clinic will be set up at Kampung Gadong in Beaufort soon.

The Sabah Health Department through the Beaufort Health Office has identified a 5.06-acre site for the project, and is currently waiting for the land application to be approved by the Federal Lands and Mines Department.

Minister in the Chief Minister’s Department Datuk Edward Khoo in reply to a question by Lumadan assemblyman Kamarlin Ombi, told the august House that the Sabah Health Department has also proposed that the rural clinic be upgraded to health clinic under the 10th Malaysia Plan so that it could benefit villagers from 12 nearby villages.

The House was also told that the Infrastructure Development Ministry has resubmitted its application to build an alternative water supply system to Kampung Jaya Bakti at Mile 38 under the rural water supply programme in the 10th Malaysia Plan.

Replying to Gum-Gum assemblyman Datuk Zakaria Mohd Edris, Assistant Infrastructure Development Minister Pang Yuk Ming said the application had been submitted to the federal government for consideration.
