KUCHING: SUPP Kota Sentosa branch secretary Lo Khere Chiang refrained from joining in the debate over the party’s president post, saying he would rather leave the matter to the party to make a decision.

“Let the party decide, it is not fair for me to make any comment,” he said, when asked to comment on the statement by party president Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Datuk Dr Chan that the party needed a totally new leader as published in The Borneo Post yesterday.

Lo, who is Padawan Municipal Council (PMC) chairman, said this at a media conference after chairing the full council meeting. Lo believed that the party leaders, having been with the party for a long time, knew what is best for the party.

“They (leaders) know what is best for the party and I believe they have discussed what is best for the party.”

Dr Chan said that passing the baton to a new leader would prevent the party from plunging into chaos and believed that its candidate for Pending in the recent state election Prof Dr Sim Kui Hian was a suitable candidate.
