KOTA KINABALU: This relocation is continuous, whereby we removed uniformed officers from carrying out work of civil servants so that they can carry out policing duties on the streets. – Datuk Khalid Abu Bakar , Deputy IGP

Over 7,000 policemen have been removed from public and clerical duties and reassigned to their actual task since last year.

Deputy IGP Datuk Khalid Abu Bakar said the reinstatement into various levels and departments under the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) was to ensure that police personnel carry out their duties on the field, while public duties will be taken over by civil servants.

“This relocation is continuous, whereby we removed uniformed officers from carrying out the work of civil servants so that they can carry out policing duties on the streets,” he said after a special assembly with PDRM civil servants in conjunction with the 204th Police Day here yesterday. — Bernama
