KOTA KINABALU: The Borneo Post yesterday received complaints from consumers on the difficulty in obtaining gas cylinders supplied by Shell.
Yee Fung coffee shop owner, Chung, said there had been a shortage of Shell gas cylinders for two weeks.
Chung, who sells laksa and beef noodles at Gaya Street, uses three gas cylinders a day, each weighing 14 kilogrammes.
“We have to compete (for the gas cylinders). But I have a good relationship with the lorry driver (who delivers the gas cylinders), so he takes care of me.”
Meanwhile, a distributor for Shell gas cylinders, said he is facing a minor supply shortage in gas cylinders.
The spokesperson, who wished to remain anonymous, believes that the shortage was due to technical problems in the supply chain but a Shell spokesperson stressed that there was no supply issue in their company, and said the problem was caused by the delivery side.
