KENINGAU: Police arrested a local man who caused injury by using a sharp weapon at Kampung Timbou in Tambunan on Thursday night.
District police chief Deputy Superintendent Zahari Mohamed yesterday said a victim, a 20-year-old youth, had lodged a police report at the Tambunan police station on the night of the incident with another victim, aged 29.
He said when the victims returned from a Harvest Festival celebration at Kampung Timbou about 10.10pm, their car was pelted with stones by a group of men.
“The victims then went out of their car to investigate but instead they were attacked with weapons by a group of men,” he said.
Zahari said one of the victims suffered cuts on his forehead, stomach and chest and was taken to the Tambunan Hospital for further treatment.
“One suspect was arrested for further investigation under Section 324 of the Penal Code,” he said.
