KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak may be adept at handling serious administrative matters, but yesterday the Prime Minister let his hair down a bit and revealed a rarely seen funny side to Malaysians.

Besides answering questions from DJs on government policies in an interview with Hot.fm radio station at Sri Pentas here, the prime minister gamely fielded light-hearted queries on football, among others, and shared memories of his childhood.

Najib, who is an ardent Manchester United (MU) fan, also cracked jokes about the English Premier League (EPL) football teams.

“I must apologise (to Liverpool fans) in advance. We know that MU has its own TV channel and so does Chelsea.

“But Liverpool only got History Channel,” he said drawing laughter among those present in the conti.

“I hope that Liverpool fans would continue voting for me,” he quipped.

MU is in the running for a double this season, having qualified for the Champions League final against Barcelona on May 28, and is leading the Premier League title chase with three more matches to go. — Bernama
