OBG and E&Y team up to publish “Sarawak 2011” 2nd report

KUALA LUMPUR: The Oxford Business Group (OBG) is working with Ernst & Young (E&Y) to publish the second report on Sarawak’s economic activities and investment opportunities.

OBG said the E&Y will work together with OBG’s research and editorial team to produce key tax and accountancy analysis for the report “Sarawak 2011”.

OBG’s country director Jana Treeck said the collaboration would give the group’s information gathering process an added edge as it prepares to document key issues like the progress Sarawak was making in driving forward economic growth and its gradual shift from the traditional sectors such as mining and agriculture.

OBG is a global publishing, research and consultancy firm which publishes economic intelligence in the Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Eastern Europe and the Caribbean markets.

The E&Y’s team here has an indepth understanding of how Sarawak’s business environment is evolving within the context of the global economy.

“I am delighted that we will benefit from their inputs as we start work on our new publication set to serve as a timely successor to our first Sarawak report,” it said.

Meanwhile, E&Y East Malaysia’s head Yong Voon Kar said he looked forward to teaming up with OBG, known to be a market leader on emerging economies, to relay key details and analysis of this exciting phase in Sarawak’s development.

Sarawak 2011 will be available in print and online will be a vital guide to the many facets of the state including its macroeconomics, infrastructure, banking and other sector developments. – Bernama
