SIBU: The untimely demise of the former Deputy Transport Minister Datuk Robert Lau Hoi Chew was due partly to his hectic lifestyle, said his widow Kapitan Datin Janet Lau on Tuesday night.

She lamented that her husband had undoubtedly neglected his health.

Speaking at a health talk organised by SUPP Teku sub-branch at its premises, Lau advised everyone, including the elderly, to make an effort to lead a healthy lifestyle.

“Health is wealth,” she said. Robert Lau Hui Yew, a municipal councillor, told the same audience that they should enrich themselves on how to lead a healthy lifestyle.

He said Malaysians were fortunate to have a government that was really concerned for the livelihood of its people in the provision of health service.

“Compared to Singapore, Malaysia has cheaper medical services for its citizenry,” he said.

More than 100 people attended the talk.
