KAPIT: Land Development Minister Tan Sri Dr James Jemut Masing thanked Kapit folk for his recent award from the Yang Di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin.

Masing received the Panglima Setia Mahkota award, which carries the title ‘Tan Sri’, during Mizan’s official birthday on June 4.

“I’m thankful to all of you, particularly government departments, and the rakyat for your support. It’s because of your support that I received the award,” he said during a simple celebration recently,
when the Kapit Resident’s Office presented him with a cake.

Masing said continued support from everyone was necessary to ensure that development programmes in Kapit could be implemented smoothly.

“The difference is leadership – the good leader delivers on his promises, while the leader with empty promises will lead to a difference in the delivery of development programmes,” he said.

He also voiced his support for Kapit Member of Parliament Datuk Alexander Nanta Linggi.

“He is a good leader who delivers on his promises. I’m sure he (Alexander) will defend the seat in the upcoming parliamentary election,” said Masing.
