KOTA KINABALU: A sports equipment dealer was yesterday ordered to refund RM1,388 for failing to deliver a product bought by one of its customers.

Consumer Claims Tribunal President Pretam Singh Darshan Singh gave the company two weeks to make the refund.

The claimant, Sazlina Abdul Rahman, told the Tribunal that she placed her order for a magnetic bike from the company on May 2 this year and was told she could have it in two weeks’ time.

However, the product was still not delivered after she had waited for a month, she said, adding that her credit card account had been debited twice to pay for the product.

Meanwhile, the company’s representative told the Tribunal that they did not have available stock for the product and promised to deliver it within three to four weeks.

He said they were even willing to give her an upgraded version to compensate for the delay.

This was however rejected by the claimant.
