CAIRO: An Egyptian passenger plane bound for Jeddah caught fire in its cockpit early today morning, Xinhua reported.
As passengers were boarding their flight at local time 9.15 am today when an electrical short circuit occurred in the cockpit, official MENA news agency said.
Civil defense forces at the Cairo Airport contained the fire, it added. The passengers and their luggage were evacuated from the plane.
