Agong presents instruments of appointment to Syariah judges

KUALA LUMPUR: The Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin, presented the instruments of appointment to 10 Syariah judges at Istana Negara yesterday.

Four of them received their instruments of appointment as Syariah Appeal Court judges for Melaka.

They are Putrajaya Syariah Chief Judge Tan Sri Ibrahim Lembut, Kuala Lumpur Syariah Chief Judge Datuk Mohamad Abdullah, Putrajaya Appeal Court Judge Datuk Md Yusuf Che Teh and Melaka Appeal Court Judge Datuk Mohammad Ibrahim.

Two other Putrajaya Appeal Court judges, Datuk Aidi Moktar and Datuk Hussin Harun, were appointed Melaka and Kuala Lumpur Syariah Appeal court judge, respectively.

Another Putrajaya Appeal Court judge, Datuk Johdi Toha, received his instrument of appointment as the Syariah Appeal Court judge for the Federal Territory, Penang and Melaka.

Federal Territory Syariah High Court judge Abdul Walid Abu Hassan and two Penang Syariah High Court judges, Mohammad Zamri Roslan and Mohd Yunus Mohamad, also received their instruments of appointment from the Agong. — Bernama
