IPOH: An assistant at a wholesale market and two labourers were charged in the Sessions Court here yesterday for the death of a former policeman last month.
R Ganesan, 30, S Sivakumar, 18, and Hasyim Jaganathan Abdullah, 36, were charged with causing the death of S Sunther, 50, in front of Pusat Makanan Kum Sun at Jalan Pengkalan Indah 2, Taman Pengkalan Indah here between 10pm and 12 midnight on July 22 this year.
However, all three pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The charge, under Section 304 (a) of the Penal Code and read together with Section 34, carries a jail term of up to 20 years and shall also be liable to a fine, if convicted.
Judge Noor Hayati Mat allowed them bail of RM8,000 in one surety each and set Sept 27 for mention. — Bernama
