KULIM: Kedah State Exco member Lim Soo Nee got a shock after receiving an envelope containing an M16 rifle bullet and a threatening letter yesterday morning.

Kulim district police chief Supt Ghuzlan Salleh said the Kulim state assemblyman found the envelope on the stairs leading to his office in Taman Kemuning at about 9.45am.

“Lim who is Chairman of Environment, Chinese Community Affairs and Transport Committee opened the envelope and was shocked to find an M16 bullet and a threatening letter,” he told Bernama when contacted yesterday.

Ghuzlan said the letter was related to dissatisfaction with two of his aides who received awards from the Sultan of Kedah recently.

The letter writer also threatened Lim not to contest the general election.

Police have identified two suspects responsible for sending the letter from footage of Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras installed in Lim’s office.

He said police are tracking them down while the case is investigated under Section 507 of Penal Code for criminal intimidation. — Bernama
