KUCHING: An unemployed youth pleaded guilty to a trespassing charge framed against him in the Magistrates’ Court here yesterday.

Richard Sari appeared before Magistrate Portia Tham Ong Leng who released him on RM5,000 bail with his parent as surety, pending the probation report and sentencing on
Aug 22.

He admitted trespassing a house near Demak Laut Commercial Centre at about 1am on Aug 22 this year. It belonged to Roslan Jamal.

House trespass comes under Section 448 of the Penal Code which carries a maximum penalty of one year’s imprisonment, fine up to RM2,000, or both.

Richard entered the house through an open window while the complainant and his family were sleeping.

One of Roslan’s children screamed in fright on seeing a person inside the bedroom at night.

Roslan called the police and the suspect was apprehended.

In the same court room, a 20-year-old youth admitted having consumed methamphetamine in his village in Matang on Nov 7, 2009.

The court fixed Aug 22 for Azmizam Rani to be sentenced, pending his probation report as he is a youthful offender.
