KUCHING: State civil servants can look forward to receiving bonus by middle of this month.
According to Second Minister of Finance Dato Sri Wong Soon Koh, the state government has allocated around RM14 million for the purpose.
“The amount will be on par with what the federal government is giving, that is either half month bonus or nothing less than RM500 per person,” he said.
He told reporters this after the Cabinet meeting yesterday.
Wong said the matter was brought up and thoroughly discussed beforehand.
“All civil servants in the state will receive their bonus sometime in middle of this month, which will be timely for those who are celebrating Hari Raya at month-end,” he said.
It will involve a total of 16,655 state civil servants.
