KUCHING: A 40-year-old man is worried about his wife Vong Sek Yuen and four children who recently left home without a word.

Chang Foh Hian, who works in Beratok near here, said he had been trying to contact his 31-year-old wife who left with their children aged between nine and one-and-a-half years on Aug 15.

He claimed that he had approached his in-laws in Asajaya but to no avail.

“They left home last Monday without leaving any message. I then rushed to my in-laws in Asajaya but they said they didn’t know where my wife and children were,” he told a news conference at the DAP headquarters here yesterday.

Accompanying him was state DAP Secretary Chong Chieng Jen, who is also Bandar Kuching MP and Kota Sentosa assemblyman.

Chang said he lodged a police report after failing to locate his family after three days.

He admitted having had a ‘little argument’ with Vong a couple of days before their disappearance.

“If she had left out of anger and impulsion, I appeal to her to come back with our children. At least, call and tell me where she is. I really want them to come home.”

He revealed that this was the second time Vong left with their children. The first time was two years ago. But it appeared serious this time around as he said his wife actually packed her belongings.

“Two years ago, she left without any baggage and I knew she went to her parents’ place.”

Chang said he had also visited the school his eldest child went to but was told by the principal that no transfer had been done.

“I went to the school but I did not see my child. I am worried about them. I fear that my wife has been deceived or something.”

Anyone who knows the whereabouts of Vong and her children are requested to alert Chang at 0143947127.
