MARUDI: The Headman of five longhouse at Ulu Teru in Tinjar Region, TR Kalong ak Goh expressed thanks to the present Barisan Nasional government for its assistance to the villagers under his jurisdiction especially through the Minor Rural projects (MRP) grants.
The five longhouses under Kalong’s care are Rumah Abok, Rumah Nyurat, Rumah Takang , Rumah Rayang and Rumah Kalong consisting a total of 102 doors.
“Even though we are headmen from several longhouses here, we are working together under one platform to bring development to the larger Kampung Mission area,” said Kalong on behalf of ten other headmen after receiving the 1Malaysia Computer Laptop given by Deputy Minister of International Trade and Industry Dato Jacob Sagan who is also Baram Member of Parliament during a meet-the-people session held at Rumah Abok recently.
Also present at the handing over ceremony were Telang Usan assemblyman, Dennis Ngau Jok and Datin Winnie Jolly Sagan who presented clothes to the women of Rumah Abok.
