SIBU: The first Iban bookstore named Syarikat Sungai Teras at Sibu Jaya is now opened to the public.
Its soft opening at Lot 3316, Ground floor of Sibu Jaya Commerical Centre (next to Adong Belalai Pub & Lynns Hairdressing) yesterday was launched by the chairman of Sarawak Iban Writers’ Association (Siwa) Harry Usup Umbar.
The Iban bookstore which is operated by Reggina Rantau from Sg. Tada, Kanowit offers a wide range of Iban books, novels, reference books and magazines.
All the Iban books and reference books are the production of Siwa.
Apart from books, the bookstore also deals with Iban dictionaries as well as Iban songs VCDs.
The availability of the bookstore, provides the Iban community or those looking for Iban reference books for academic purposes with the right resources, which are currently very much limited in the market.
The business operation hours of the bookstore is from 8am to 9pm daily.
