PIA Lahore-KL flight declared safe

SEPANG: Pakistan International Airline (PIA) Airbus 310 Flight PK898 from Lahore to KL International Airport (KLIA) that landed safely at the KL International Airport (KLIA) at 9.34pm yesterday has been inspected by the police and declared safe and clean of any explosives, the Sundaily reported Malaysia Airports Berhad as saying today.

At 1.05am, the police completed the search inside the cabin and the cargo hold, and declared the aircraft to be cleared of any explosive materials.

The airport operator declared a stand down from the emergency arising from the bomb threat of the flight at 3.25am.

“As a security procedure, the passengers were interrogated by police and all 164 passengers were released for immigration clearance at 2.31am after satisfactory screening by the police,” it said in a statement.

Malaysia Airports said the aircraft and luggage were searched and screened by the police’s bomb disposal unit and the K9 Unit.
