BUKIT MERTAJAM: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak yesterday repeated the promise of the federal government not to ignore Penang in the development projects although the state is now under the Pakatan Rakyat administration.
He said differences in political ideology would not prevent the federal government from assisting the people of Penang.
“We will continue the development in Penang as what is being carried out now such as the Penang International Airport expansion project, the construction of the Second Bridge, and the Mengkuang Dam Project which would be ready soon,” he said in his speech at the Malaysia Aidilfitri-Merdeka open house, here.
Najib said the progress enjoyed by Penang were mostly due to the efforts of the federal government.
“In the interests of the people, we will continue with the development projects,” he said.
