GEORGE TOWN: The Penang Development Corporation (PDC) needs one more week to complete the report relating to the delay in opening the RM5 million multi-level carpark in Penang Hill.
“We hope to finish the report within a week before submitting it to the Tourism Ministry,” its general manager Datuk Rosli Jaafar told reporters after an Aidilfitri open house organised by PDC here yesterday.
“The building has not been issued a certificate of fitness because of some weaknesses in the design,” he said.
He cited the gradient as being too steep and needed some re-designing to make it more gentle to accommodate all types of vehicles and for the convenience of users.
He also said the re-designing was currently being undertaken to meet the required standard for the CF from the Penang Municipal Council. — Bernama
