PETALING JAYA: Four men were detained to help in the police investigation into a robbery of a trailer laden with used tyres worth RM65,000, at a tyre factory in Bandar Bukit Puchong, Monday night.

Selangor police chief Datuk Tun Hisan Tun Hamzah said police received a report from the factory’s security guard of the robbery at 10.45pm.

“The guard claimed four men with machetes threatened and tied him up before throwing him into a nearby drain.

They then drove off in a trailer laden with 319 tyres worth RM65,000.

“The guard managed to free himself 15 minutes later before lodging a police report,” he told a news conference at the Mutiara Damansara police station, here, yesterday.

Six hours later, he said police found the container at the Pelangi Damansara reserve land but the trailer was missing.

The case is being investigated under Section 394 of the Penal Code.

Tun Hisan said police staked out the location until about 10am before four men in a Perodua Myvi and a Toyota Corolla appeared.

Police are seeking a remand order on the suspects. — Bernama
