MIRI: The 1Malaysia Miri City Street Party 2011 celebration and countdown event to Malaysia Day is expected to draw 5,000 people tonight (Sept15).

“Restaurants on Yu Seng Road such as Ming Cafe, Barcelona, Chili Peppers and Seaworld Seafood are coming up with special offers for food and drinks. It’s happy hour prices all night long!” SUPP Miri Youth chief Keith Chin said in a press release yesterday.

From 7.20pm onwards there will be live band performance from The Kord and stage performance by street magician Shafique to warm the crowd up before the arrival of guest-of-honour Public Health and Environment
Minister Datuk Sri Wong Soon Koh.

After the speeches and souvenir presentation, the party will kick off with a series of performances: Wushu (8.20pm), Hindu dance (8.30pm), Street Dance by Next Element of Brunei (8.35pm), Wushu (8.40pm), Fynna and Izzat (8.50pm), Phoebe Woodford (9.05pm), Sexy Jazz dance by The Love Dance (TLD) studio (9.20pm), Dance by Ex-version (9.25pm)
and Tam Sien Yeong (9.30pm).

The first lucky draw for two IPads2 starts 10pm followed by performances like Akademi Fantasia Season 5 (AF5) by artiste Candy (10.10pm), AF5’s Ebi (10.30pm), Flash Mobs dance by TLD (10.50pm) and live band Masterpiece (10.55pm).

The second lucky draw for three IPads2 starts 11.40pm before countdown begins at 11.55pm, followed by performances by live band Musicline (12.05am), Dance by Ex-version (12.50am), and DJ spinning the music from 1am until end of programme at 2am.

Lisa Wong from ESPN will be the emcee for the night.
