MIRI: The state civil service plays crucial roles in ensuring the success of Sarawak Corridor of Renewable Energy (SCORE), says Chief Minister Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud.

“Today’s civil servants must not have knowledge and skills but they must also be innovative and creative. They must treat quality, productivity and integrity of their work as their priority,” he said when presenting Loyal Service Award to 340 state civil servants here yesterday.

All have served the state for 20 years and above.

He added that civil servants must work as a team which was key to ensuring a successful public service administration in the state.

The Chief Minister congratulated the award recipients for their loyalty and efficient service.

The recipients came from the Ministry of Infrastructure Development and Communications, Public Work Department, Forest Department, Agriculture Department, Drainage and Irrigation Department, Royal Malaysia Police, Fire and Rescue Department, Health Department and Education Department.

State Secretary, Datuk Amar Mohamad Morshidi Abdul Ghani, meanwhile said that the creation of a High Performance Team (HPT) culture was the foundation for a successful organisation.

Morshidi said that HPT supported the culture of sharing similar vision among all civil servants and the ability to steer an organisation to reach its vision and mission.

“HPT strengthens the delivery system in Civil Service and Public Affairs Management.
