Driver flees after crashing into three stationary cars

KUCHING: A Proton Wira driver fled the scene after his car hit three vehicles at the traffic lights near SJK Chung Hua No. 4 here, in an accident that occurred on Saturday night.

According to a victim, the culprit could be in his 20’s.

The victim said he and a van were waiting at the traffic lights when the Proton Wira, coming from Kuching Civic Centre, hit his car before crashing into the van and a Proton Saga.

The out of control Wira came to a stop not far from the traffic lights after the crash.

A 59-year-old woman who was a passenger in the van was slightly injured. She had been sent to Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) for treatment.

In a separate accident, an Indonesian, who was believed to be drunk, lost control of his motorcycle and crashed into a drain.

The incident happened around noon yesterday at Mile 5 here.

The victim in his 30’s was heading home after a drinking session with friends.

He was sent to SGH.

Meanwhile, a 23-year-old pillion rider, who was believed to have fallen asleep, fell off a moving motorcycle.

He was lucky to suffer only light injuries as the motorcycle was travelling slowly as it approached a roundabout in Petra Jaya here around 1am yesterday. He and his friend were on their way to Satok. He received treatment at SGH.

The police are investigating the cases.
