KUALA LUMPUR: The police yesterday dismissed an allegation by a son of PAS deputy president Mohamad Sabu that the police had masterminded the arson attempt on their house here.

Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Ismail Omar said there was no truth to the allegation by Ahmad Saiful Islam, 23.

The police had been on the receiving end of all kinds of allegations, he told reporters after launching the ‘Triage’ facility at the Travers police station here. The facility is a special room where complainants can lodge reports on sensitive cases, away from what some may consider as an ‘inconducive’ environment at the counter.

Ismail also said that the police force was a professional agency which was open and fair to all.

It was reported yesterday that an arson attempt was made on the house of Mohamad, better known as Mat Sabu, when a molotov cocktail was thrown at it at 12.40am Tuesday. — Bernama
